Dear and I visited Piazza San Marco in the evening. Many cafes set up outdoor tables along the piazza and there were music bands playing beautiful musics for the customers. However, most of the people, including me, chose to stand listening to the music instead. You know why!
After 25 years of working, I decided to retire from all the busy and hectic environment in January 2005. This blog describes what I do after my retirement.

Split, Croatia
We arrived at Split, Croatia's seaport, on April 25. Since we did not book excursion, we intended to visit Split on our own. We walked inside Diocletian's Palace, the Roman royal residence and UNESCO world heritage site. Unfortunately the weather was bad and the rain made us return to the ship sooner than expected.

Sorrento, Italy
At Sorrento, we have two options, to go to Capri or Pompeii. I have already been to both places some 15 years ago. Capri is a very beautiful island, especially the spectacular views of the Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples from Anacapri. Pompeii, on the other hand, is a very interesting historical site resulted from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 62. Due to the recently eruption of Iceland volcanic, we then opted to go to Pompeii to explore once again the aftermath of the volcanic eruption.

Florence, Italy
I was heartbroken when I learnt that Galleria dell' Accademia, where the famous Michelangelo's David sculpture was exhibited, was closed. I have long wished to appreciate the sculpture once again after 15 years when I went to Florence when Dear was very young. I remembered that I was so impressed with the magnificent masterpiece which showed state-of-the-art muscular figure of David in a beautifully white colossal marble statue. Anyway this time I only had a chance to see a copy of the statue in front of the Piazza della Signoria.
